Increase thread count for agent dead locks

Hi,

I have an shipment create agent which is causing locks at the time of bulk plan. we have a call procedure logic in the agent and  some times its getting stuck there unless some body goes to processing screen and release the locks./

if we increase the thread count on agents will that help?
