Smart View Retrievals Slow in 11.1.2.4

My users were able to perform a smartview retrieval of about 5K rows of HFM data in just about 10 seconds in 11.1.2.3. Since upgrading to 11.1.2.4 HFM retrieval performance has been crippled. My users are now facing a time out error and when we increase the time-out setting we find that the retrieval is just taking too long.

Has anyone faced a similar issue?

We use Citrix to host Excel 2012 with SV v720 installed.

Does anyone have more insight into how Smart View works i.e. how the data is retrieved and if there is a process to diagnose my issue?
