Migrating JDE World A73CU00E9 on V5R3 to V5R4 or V6R1

Hi JDEW experts!

I am currently in the midst of an upgrade of one of our JDE World environments to EnterpriseOne. The specific environment is hosted on an old Power520 machine, running V5R3 with JDE World A73CU00E9.

Unfortunately I'm out of luck as I cant install the A738078380 update on the old environment as it requires minimum V5R4.

What would you all recommend I do? I want to be as time efficient as humanly possible in this...

(a) Upgrade the Power520 machine to V5R4? If so, are there any guides, outside the IBM guides, that are JDE relevant to the upgrade? Will I need to do anything within JDE after OS upgrade?
