JDE Upgrade from 8.12 to 9.2

Finally we are planning to upgrade our JDE 8.12 to 9.2. Our Company has about 16 sites worldwide. So we thinking of upgrading site by site (we can't do all 16 sites at the same time) or module by module (then for all sites). Is there any documentation for the module by module upgrade or is not recommended by Oracle due to the fact, that there is too many interactions between the modules?
