How to generate cogs when revenue recognition generated cogs equivalent to budgeted expenditure

Hi Support Community,

I have a case in project and i need your advice for the solution, kindly refer to below details

Project no: 14431

Contract Amount: 100,000

Budget Amount: 80,000

I have completely done revenue recognition for 100,000 and corresponding cogs generated 80,000 base on 15% margin between contract amount and budget amount. Since the project not closed we recieved more expenditure which is overshooting the budget which is normal for the long-running project, now my question is how to recognize excess expenditure to COGS which is lying in WIP, currently it happens only when we close the project,
