End dating a PM with the Schedule Type of List Dates

We are on R12.1.3.  I would like to end date a PM that has List Dates as the Schedule Type.  If I enter in a date in the Effective To field, I receive the error of 'The Preventive Maintenance Schedule has no rules.'
