ullimit max user processes requirement non-global project equivalent?

A customer is asking for hard ulimit max user process value to be increased (ulimit –u). The non-global zone shares the kernel or at least /etc/system does not exist on the zone in question. Is there a project parameter substitute? We only want the value only to apply to the zone and not all zones within the global. I tried project.max-processes without success.
