Modifying distribution chartfields in add/update receipts

We use the "Purchasing > Receipts > Add/Update Receipts" page to receive items.  We then use the "Maintain Chartfields" page to modify the receipt lines' chartfields.

The question is, can we enable editing of those chartfields in the "add/update receipts" page to save a step in this process?  It appears that they are read-only in the "distribution information" link under the "links and status" tab.
