AIS /REST API automate start & stop server instances?

Just wondering if anyone has used the RESTAPI to auto start and stop JDE server instances and if so, I would like to know what their experience has been like.

I am trying automate the start and stop of our enterprise  & Web instances. so that I could schedule a restart every weekend for these servers.

just wondering if anyone out there has automated these functions and appreciate if they could share the experience.

Endpoint - http://<host>:<port>/manage/mgmtrestservice/stopinstance
