Oracle Linux Clusterware with non-RAC Database

in Linux Operating System (MOSC) Question

Hi all,

My company has just purchase a new set of servers to replace our current aging hardwares. Previously it's running on RHEL 5 with Oracle 11G database & Veritas Cluster Server.

For this new set of servers I planned to suggest to my management, instead of using RedHat Linux & VCS the new servers should runs on Oracle Linux 7 with Linux Clusterware as it will make supporting any issues related to Oracle DB easier as there's only 1 point of support contact.

My question is, I often heard that Oracle Linux Clusterware is paired together with Oracle RAC. We do not have any RAC running in our environment, so will Linux CLusterware still works?
