getting DIA-49803 error when using purgeODAlog.pl

I recently upgraded our grid  from 12.1 to 18.3 (ODA X-52) and then found that purgeODAlog.pl program was spitting out an error. This error is  DIA-49803: Purge not possible due to incompatible schema version.

Has anyone else hit this issue on any ODA?   Is there any work-around?
