Is it possible to write checks without an address number?

Our company provides refunds to consumers rather than replacing a product in many instances. This process is currently outside of JDE, but we'd like to bring it in. Is there a way to write a check without having an address number associated with it? I haven't tested it, but I was wondering if we could enter a purchase order (maybe a new order type) with an order address for the consumer and do a three way match into A/P and have the check written to the order address. Is that possible?
