move and upgrade of our RMAN catalog

Upon review of How to Move RMAN Catalog To A Different Database (Doc ID 351918.1), RMAN 11G : Import Catalog (Doc ID 419173.1), Known Issues with RMAN Oracle12c Catalog (Doc ID 2039848.1), I would like some advice on move and upgrade of our RMAN catalog.  Questions:

1. If the new target DB has the same username for the catalog owner (RMAN) and an empty table space called RMAN, is that OK?

2. The new DB is 12.2, have the bugs described in document 2039848.1 been fixed?

3. Once the catalog has been imported, can I upgrade the catalog to 12?

4. Can 11g DB backups work OK in a 12c catalog?
