What is Asset Automatic Number Gen & Interest Method in System Options for Equipment Leases?

Hello

I have referred the User , Implementation and Metalink and can't find any description / guidance on the following System Option Setup for Equipment Leases: "Asset Automatic Number Gen" & Interest Method?

Asset Automatic Number Gen : What drives which option to select : Yes or No? What should be the consideration when choosing these values?

Interest Method : What drives which option to select: Daily Compound Interest,  Linear Compound Interest or Simple Interest?  What should be the consideration when choosing these values?
