Web-Course completions reverting to Not Complete from Complete

We have had several users, when completing a web-based module that includes a quiz and must score 100, have their completions revert back to Not Complete at the end-date of the course. Their Grades and Attendance page shows complete, however the Component page shows attended but not completed. This happened to several on the same roster as ones whose completions did not revert back. The system even sent users email notifications stating the course was completed. Has anyone experienced this happening. If the module went to complete...the system sends a notification indicating completion why would the module revert to "Not
