upgrade to 12.2 requires to change the DB to CDB?

Hi, We have a dedicated standalone database working with enterprise application "banner". I am trying to verify if we have to move to CDB database in order to upgrade from 12.1.2.0 to 12.2.0.1.

I am sure many may have already have that information.
