Is there a recommendation from Oracle how to configure the OOM killer on Oracle database servers on
Our Oracle databases have been running mainly on Redhat Linux for some months (previously they ran on AIX).
Now we had a memory bottleneck on one of our servers, and the OOM killer has killed some processes, including a DB writer process.
Subsequently, a block was corrupt in the affected database.
This database was a test database in noarchivelogmode, which then had to be restored from a backup.
Therefore, we now consider whether we should disable the OOM killer on our database servers.
Is there a recommendation from Oracle how to configure the OOM killer on Oracle database servers?
