Optional Fees Partial Refund for Withdrawn Students

We have setup Optional Fees for our Meal Plan. It is currently working fine for active students. It is calling an Equation Engine to determine the amount to be charged to the students.

We would like to know if there is a way to make the optional fees follow the refund schedule for students with Withdrew status. Does the Equation Engine override the adjusted amount? If yes, how should we code the Equation Engine to follow refund calculation when students status is Withdrew?
