Mid Month Close

Does JD Edwards support a mid month close?  The fiscal date pattern is setup based on a calendar and we have a need to close August on 8/16.

I know I can change the fiscal date pattern for period 8 to end on 8/16 but what are the consequences?  I see what of the issues is depreciation.

Any assistance would be appreciated
