Hi,

In a stable 12.1.3 EBS environment running on RHEL 7, I recently had $LOG_HOME/appl/rgf/javacache.log grow from 204 Kbytes to 107 Gbytes in 7 days.

The growth was due to a repeating error message:

[2019-07-18T13:43:17.922-05:00] [ias] [ERROR] [] [cache.group.HttpHandler] [host: cgrapp003p] [nwaddr: 10.33.5.37] [tid: 366325247] [userId: applp25] [ecid: 1420969848:89240:1563475397922:366205129,1] Can't deserialize the Packet at [0] . Root cause:null[[

java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: GC overhead limit exceeded

]]

No reports of anyone experiencing any problems with the application itself.

Bounced the application tier and cleared the javacache.log file and (after 16 hours) the size remains zero.

We've never experienced this before and to the best of my knowledge there have been no changes to the environment.

Howdy, Stranger!
