How to create an Event Scheduler custom component

Hi All,

I have read the oracle documentation on creating custom components. is there anyone with a better tutorial or guide which could help me to create custom component which works like an Event Scheduler.

Basically i want my custom component to run some code at midnight for an hour everyday.
