Hyperion App Utility in 11.1.2.4.100+ releases

Hi all,

According to Hyperion Financial Management 11.1.2.4 Application Copy using HFM Copy App Utility (Doc ID 2099228.1), this utility is used to copy Hyperion schemas and related components from one environment to the other. My questions is if someone has any insight into how this tool works and if there are any known challenges? Also, if the copy failed will it negatively impact the source environment - say Production? The reason we are looking at this approach is to resolve the error:

Component SYSTEM9/FOUNDATION_SERVICES_PRODUCT/SHARED_SERVICES_PRODUCT is null in EPM System Registry. Verify EPM System Registry configuration.
