Inactive or Hold items from transactions

Hi All,

Need your help to address below scenario.

Wanted to hold the parent items ( from any inventory transactions ST/OT etc )  , if any of component is having zero cost.

I don't want to ship or transact any item with wrong cost. I want to hold the parent item , till its cost is been re-rolled after updating the components cost.

Options are :

1.Obsoleting the parent items  OR

2. Applying a Location hold code .

Please share your thoughts , if you have come across such scenario.
