Parent-Child Assets Hierarchy ?

Hello,

We have a request to create a parent-child hierarchy for some of our assets in Oracle Assets. Specifically, we want to

1) create parent-child hierarchy for some assets, so they have parent-child relationships

2) the parent and child assets can be on different books

3) the costs or values of child assets can be rolled up to the cost of a parent asset, so when child assets depreciate, the parent asset value can "automatically" changes accordingly

Can "subcomponents" in Oracle Assets accomplish all above goals ? and how? Any suggestion is very appreciated.
