Oracle12c database for JDE 9.2 backup question

Using Oracle12c database for JDE 9.2  Currently the database size is 1.2Tb however JDE with Prod, Prototype, Development & Pristine only is 230Gb.  Would it be considered "safe" to only backup JDE-related tables spaces or is it best to back it all up?  Just seem a lot of wasted backupset space when keeping multiple copies.
