Contingent Worker vs Employee

Hello,

Is there any documentation about what the specific differences are between creating people as Employees or Contingent Workers? I know Contingent Workers have less access and are able to do fewer things, but I have not found any documentation that specifically details that. I'm working on a project where the client is asking what those differences are before deciding how to set up contractors' person records in Oracle.
