RDBMS Version (primary and standby): 12.1.0.2.0

ORACLE_HOME (primary and standby): /home/oracle/app/oracle/product/12.2.0/dbhome_1/

Oracle® Database Patch 29176139 - Database Proactive Bundle Patch 12.1.0.2.190416

Primary ORACLE_SID/DB_UNIQUE_NAME: ORCL1/ORCL1PRM

Standby ORACLE_SID/DB_UNIQUE_NAME: ORCL1/ORCL1STB

We performed a patch on our environment, the patch is ( Oracle® Database Patch 29176139 - Database Proactive Bundle Patch 12.1.0.2.190416).

After the patch, we noticed that the switchover to physical standby took exactly 10 mins, while switching over back to primary from standby only takes seconds. Before the patch, the switchover took roughly the same amount of time from primary to physical standby and back to primary.
