Move of large file on OVM Linux guest hangs

OVMM 3.4.2

Oracle VM Manager

Version: 3.4.2.1398

Build: 20170615_1398

Guest:

Oracle Linux 7.6

Guest Domain Type: Xen HVM PV Drivers

Size of file being moved: 58G

When we attempt to move a 58G file from one file system on a Linux guest VM to another, the command hangs and the target filesystem is then inaccessible. The mv process cannot be killed with kill -9. Only a reboot kills the hung process. We have attempted this multiple times with the same result.

The origin and destination file systems are LVMs in different volume groups and on different OVM repositories. The repositories are NFS shares on ZS5-2 ZFSSAs.

Howdy, Stranger!
