WO assigned serial numbers being consumed by other orders

  • We have items coded with a 'W' line type so a work order is created when the SO line is added.  Item also is set to use Lot/Serial Nos.

  • Work order is processed and completed, and the serial number is added to the order as well as hard committed (COMM = H).  Item is also completed to inventory (Doc Type = IC)

  • Another order comes along and does a pick confirm (P4205) and finds the location / serial no. available and is able to consume this serial number.  Even though it is available, it should be hard committed and assigned to another order.
