Large Negotiations style defaults back to Standard after template is selecte

We are researching using the large negotiation style for our large construciton projects.  When I select large for the style and then select a template it defaults back to standard.  However, when  no template is selected it remains as large.  Any suggestions on what would cause this and are there any additional setups required to use use this functionality?
