Does all XML Interop communication go over the serviceNameConnect port?

When using the XML Interop/Dispatch and all communication go over the serviceNameConnect port in the JDE ini?  Or does that only occur for the initial communication and subsequent messages move to a different port? 

We are trying to open the correct ports in our firewall to ensure we can use this feature.
