ASM - storage implementation

Hi,

We are planning new database server. I have a dilemma with ASM storage.

Our existing ASM implementation is:

- 20x 300GB 15K RPM SAS 6Gbps - no RAID. One diskgroup with redundancy normal consinst of all 20 disks.

- so mirroring and striping is maintained by ASM.

 

In the new server, I have two options:

1. 10x 960GB SSD SAS Mixed use 12Gbps 512e - no RAID, redundancy normal, so mirroring and striping is maintained by ASM.

2. 10x 960GB SSD SAS Mixed use 12Gbps 512e - 5x RAID 1, one hot spare disk, mirroring is done by RAID 1 and striping by ASM.
