How are the Pick Date (PDDJ) and Ship Date (PPDJ) calculated by TMS for 'make to order' items?

We are investigating the Transportation Management Module (TMS) and we are finding that the sales order detail (F4211) dates are being updated during the shipment routing process.

According to Doc ID 625513.1 – For outbound shipments the Pick Date (PDDJ) and Ship Date (PPDJ) are calculated by TMS based on the Customers Request Date (DRQJ), using transit days and the workday calendar. This will work well for discrete ‘make to stock’ manufacturing (when you are filling orders by pulling from stock in the warehouse).

But, How are the Pick Date (PDDJ) and Ship Date (PPDJ) calculated by TMS based on Request Date (DRQJ) for made to order items? Are item lead time and work center capacity taken into consideration?   Make to order items are not stocked on a shelf in the warehouse, they are made according to specifications.

Howdy, Stranger!
