Experiences with Oracle Cloud?

This thread is NOT a question with an answer.  It is intended to simply generate discussion from which I hope to learn a few things and perhaps open myself up to some ideas I have been resistant to.

This weekend I began reading The Fifth Domain, by Richard A. Clarke and Robert K. Knake.  It discusses cybersecurity, with the two authors having been deeply involved in it, particularly in government roles through multiple administrations (U.S.).  The thrust of the book, as I’ve read it so far, is discussing how the balance of power between attackers (especially state-sponsored attackers) and defenders can be, and is being, shifted toward the defender.
