Oracle EBS and sFTP - Payments - using sFTP

I have some confusion around Oracle EBS and sFTP - if doing a google search and reading AskTom - you'll find as i did that Oracle does not have a pl/SQL version of sFTP for file transfer. users are creating scripts to interact with Java.

- Ok I understand this - but I'm currently using sFTP in Payments to send Positive pay files and also get incoming files.

and it is explained that this is being sent with Sftp ...

So i don;'t understand how oracle can say it doesn't use or have a sFTP protocol ... very confusing.

And since it is there - why can't we make use of it in PL/SQL ...
