User Defined Attributes in Siebel

Hi All,

We have some requirements where we need to create some attributes for external systems which will not be used for Siebel eConfigurator etc. Basically, they are not the transactional attributes and for us the entity User Defined Attributes in Siebel fits well.

OOTB, this UDA Applet is read-only and data should be inserted in siebel through PH4C. However, we dont have PH4C and AIA.

Our Question: Can we use BC for our requirements? We will remove Read-Only property from applet and then start using it. Has anybody tried to use it before in their implementation which did not have PH4C etc?
