Matrix Item Duplication

Hi,

I am using Item Matrix to create Item Master data. Following Structure I am following:

Segment 1 Line of Business - UDC Values - 2 Char

Segment 2 Item Type - UDC Values - 1 Char

Segment 3 Product Category - UDC Values - 3 Char

Segment 4 Serial Number - Numeric Field (Manual Entry) - 7 Char

While creating Item Master Data, system allows me to run thru the process for Duplicate Segment Values. Even at the End system is not providing any Error message that duplicate values are processing.

Can you please guide me that how can we stop processing duplicate?
