OBIEE (12.2.1.4) BI Publisher Excel export cell value getting split into multiple cells

Hello BIP gurus,

When i try to export OBIEE (12.2.1.4) BI Publisher report into excel, one of the column/cell value is getting split into multiple cells i.e., 1 row becoming 3 rows because of this single column/cell. Value in this cell is not that large, under 240 characters.  'Merge cells' is enabled for all cells/columns except this cell/column. My layout is simple table and generated within BIP browser. Interestingly, i have another column with similar length of text column and it is behaving properly. I also tried using excel template but run into memory issues due to large amount of data.
