Error when trying to cancel a receipt row.

An item was put away in a location and then later the quantity was adjusted to 0 for that location.  The item was subsequently put away in a new location.  The receipt row for the item in the original location is stuck.  Trying to cancel the receipt row results in the following error:

Inventory record missing for the putaway of receiver line 2; change not allowed. (11100,810)

Transaction history exists for the putaway transaction of the receipt; however, the corresponding Inventory record does not exist.  Receipt quantity change is not allowed.

Has anyone encountered this error?  How did you resolve it?
