Uncheck option for enable compression?

I am on tools 9.2.2.4 app 9.2  - WebSphere 8.5.5.5

We would have random crashes (Not very frequently), and it seems like the web server just dies as it reaches full capacity and the only way to recover is by rebooting.

Opened a call with Oracle and the consultant assigned to the call asked me to disable the  "EnableCompression" parameter for the JAS server.

I am a bit cautious, has any websphere user on tools 9.1 or 9.2 experience with this setting, appreciate your feedback thanks
