Using 18c shared scan listener with version 11.2 client cluster

The question is about database upgrade and migration planning: Is it possible to configure current existing 11.2 GI cluster using the new (planned) Oracle 18c shared scan listeners?

The new feature is documented https://docs.oracle.com/en/database/oracle/oracle-database/18/cwadd/oracle-clusterware-administration.html#GUID-23F9AC93-4A4F-4986-B91A-147C8FA4100E but I cannot find, is there any backward compatibility to older cluster?

Or optionally configure every old 11.2 client cluster database remote_listener pointing to new 18c shared scan?
