Kit Parent Items - Should they print on shipping documents (pick ticket, pack slip, etc).

Are kit parent items supposed to print on shipping documents (i.e. pick tickets, pack slips, etc.).  There is no inventory for the parent item.  Won't this confuse the shipping staff?  Is there a way to prevent these from printing?
