SQL 2008 Compatibility mode supported in 2016/2017 for HFM 11.1.2.3.700

Good afernoon.

As you may know, 2008 SQL, Windows 2008, has reached its EOL.  We're looking to take our existing Physical environment and convert to Virtual.  But more importantly, we're needing to understand any issues with using SQL 2016/2017 in 2008 compatibility mode for 11.1.2.3.700.  This is a temporary measure as we migrate our existing HFM to another platform in the interim.  This temporary solution will run two environments, DEV & PROD until Q4 2020. 

So to reiterate, is there or does anyone have any experience running 11.1.2.3.700 using SQL server 2016/2017 in 2008 compatibility mode?
