How to see inventory commitments by location?

We have a few thousand locations in our warehouse and we hard commit our sales orders with the warehouse pick slip process 5 or 6 days out for shipping. We have an issue where the warehouse personnel is often physically moving inventory from one location to another, and then later realizing the inventory was already hard committed to a sales order, causing the customer service department to de-allocate the sales order so the product can be moved to the correct location in the E1 system, and then having to manually re-commit.
