Serial Number updates in the Install Base, for a CRU.
How is the Serial Number updated in the Install Base for a CRU?
I'm told that if a customer replaces the part they are instructed to follow: "How can customers update the System Serial Number after a SuperFru Part Replacement (Doc ID 1575977.1)"
That document tells the customer to select 'Contact Us' in MOS and provide the SN and ask for the Install Base to be updated. At the end of the Document there is a note: "DHL should collect the outbound and inbound (returned) serial number. DHL then sends Oracle the serial number, the Install Base team receives the data to update the install base.
