Editing Comments in Asset Management Basic Add

Are you able to edit the comments section in Basic Add under the Location/Comments/Attributes tab for an asset after it is saved?  It is grayed out and we can not figure how to change it.  We can add a new row but not edit an existing one even when correct history is clicked.  Is there a security setting somewhere that we are missing?  Thank you.
