HSA status change business process

Reaching out to the universe for help on how to successfully use PeopleSoft Ben Admin to enter an HSA employee pledge change after a qualified life event takes medical coverage from Family to Employee Only. In the scenario we have the employee has contributed $3750 year-to-date which exceeds the employee-only HSA contribution limit. When attempting to enter the QLE event through ben admin we get errors. Here's what we've tried

a. Enter plan type 67 annual pledge of employee-only contribution limit and a monthly override amount. We get an error that annual pledge cannot be less than YTD contribution amount.

b. Enter plan type 67 annual pledge of YTD contribution amount and a monthly override amount. We get an error that the annual pledge of cannot exceed the employee-only contribution limit of $3500.
