Error Uploading Dates From Spreadsheet Into EBS 12.2

We have a very basic spreadsheet created by the Integrator and when I copy the data from another file into this one it will only work if I manually change the format of the date from yyyymmdd to dd-mon-yyyy.   Why is this?  I cannot even change the format in the spreadsheet.  When I try that I get all the ******.  But if I manually retype the date in the other format, the upload works perfectly.  How can change it to accept the format yyyymmdd?
