Created an RTF BI Publisher report and getting Question Marks before the data

I an working on a new custom vendor interface and the data looks good in the data model. But when I run it with the RTF report there are a couple of hundred ??? (Question Marks) before the data starts but the data is correct after the question marks. Any idea what is causing this. I am kind of new at writing these so any help is appreciated. The header row looks good and does not have the question marks. I am attaching the rtf.
