DAY_TOLERANCE in eam_pm_schedulings

Hello, Kindly explain what the DAY_TOLERANCE field in EAM_PM_SCHEDULINGS table is used for and where to update on front-end application.   On PM SCHEDULE DEFINITION Form, the Tolerance in Days Field is derived from eam_pm_activities , so I do not understand DAY_TOLERANCE in eam_pm_schedulings.  Thank you
